I am a dedicated special educator and researcher with 6 years of K-12 classroom experience, 4 years of instructional coaching experience, 2 years of reading intervention experience, 5 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and 11 years of education research experience. I previously held my educator license in Florida (K-12 Special Education, K-6 Elementary Education, ESOL Endorsement) and currently hold an Iowa educator license (K-8 and 5-12 Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate, K-12 Instructional Strategist II: ID, BD/LD).

- As a special education classroom teacher, I have experience with IEPs and teaching academic, vocational, and life skills to adolescents with intellectual disabilities and was twice awarded teacher of the year.
- As a reading interventionist, I have experience with early elementary students with or at-risk for learning disabilities.
- As a university instructor, I have experience preparing pre-service and in-service special education teachers, providing guest lectures, and mentoring undergraduate research scholars.
- As a researcher, I have substantial experience in project development and management, data collection/management/analyses, and dissemination of results to a wide variety of audiences including over 25 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 conference presentations; I am also a certified What Works Clearinghouse reviewer and certified in NIH and CITI IRB.
